Massive Recruitment of Chefs Going on at Wonton Kitchen in Canada
Cantonese restaurant requires Head Chef to run our kitchen
Job Bank Job No.# 1400900
Two year contract – February 2020 to February 2022 (as soon as possible)
$25-27 per hour, 35-40 hours per week
Ability to supervise 3-4 people
Must have own cell phone and transportation (public transit is available)
Work conditions – fast paced environment, physically demanding, work under pressure, attention to detail, standing for extended periods
Work location – urban area, relocation costs not covered by employer
Work site environment – noisy, hot, non-smoking, wet/damp
Personal suitability – team player, organized, reliability, flexibility, dependability
Additional skills –
Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
Analyze operating costs and other data
Requisition food and kitchen supplies
Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
Rank of chef – head chef
Cuisine specialities – international (Shanghainese fried bao, Cantonese wontons)
Work setting – restaurant
Food specialties – eggs and dairy, meat, poultry, and game, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and mushrooms, stocks, soups, and sauces, fish and seafood
Executive chef special skills – plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards, estimate food requirements and food and labour costs
Chefs and Specialist Chefs Specific Skills – create new recipes, supervise cooks and other kitchen staff, instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
Credentials – Cook Trade Certification
Education – trade certificate, or equivalent experience
Experience – 5+ years
